CHAIR: Rick Donnelly
SCOPE This subcommittee is responsible for helping the committee organize activities (symposiums, workshops, conferences, information sessions, technology transfer seminars, etc.) other than the annual TRB meeting in Washington, D.C. The subcommittee will be proactive in identifying opportunities to promote research and practice in the areas of the committee’s interest. The subcommittee will interact with such agencies as NSF, TRB, U.S. and State DOTs, and MPOs to explore sponsorship, as well as maintain a dialogue with ADB40 committee liaisons (to other TRB committees) to explore collaborative possibilities with other TRB committees. The subcommittee will serve as the steering committee for all aspects of the planning of each event, including schedule and structure of the event, developing mechanisms to disseminate information regarding the event, and logistical coordination. The subcommittee will interact with the research agenda subcommittee and will base its planning on the guiding principles for an action plan developed by the research agenda subcommittee. The subcommittee will be expected to organize, individually or collaboratively with other TRB committees, at least one event each year.
