TRANSPORTATION DEMAND FORECASTING

SUBCOMMITTEE

DATA INFORMATION

CHAIR:              David Levinson

SCOPE

The charge to this subcommittee is to compile, and periodically update, a list of publicly available data sources to inform and encourage research on transportation demand analysis. For each data source, brief information on the data type (RP survey, SP survey, vehicle count data, etc.), empirical context (urban personal, urban freight, inter-urban personal, inter-urban freight, etc.), locational context, data collection procedures, salient characteristics of the data for analysis purposes, contact information for obtaining data, and any important reference publications will be provided. The subcommittee will design a standard template for documenting information about each data source. The subcommittee will interact closely with the urban/statewide transportation data and information systems committees as well as the freight transportation data committee in compiling its list of data sources. This information will be posted at the ADB40 committee web site. The subcommittee will revisit, and update as needed, the data resource content at least twice a year.
